Let us introduce you to Aaron. Aaron joined the SkillSET employability programme at NOW Group in April 23. The SkillSET programme is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Aaron started his new job at the start of August 2023 with Centra, Limavady. Aaron is loving his new job and “has fitted right in” advises the branch manager Ruairi McBride.
Aaron had some previous retail experience combined with hopes of working in a kitchen and using his catering qualifications. NOW Group staff member Dawn explains:
“When Aaron and I started working towards his employment future we looked at all Aaron’s hopes and aspirations, we decided to start with a 5-week catering and hospitality Academy with a local hotel. Aaron really thrived and enjoyed this experience.
Aaron has taken on all aspects of working in this large local store, he is a valued part of the team, and he is looking forward to training to be able to staff the extensive hot food and deli bar within the store. This was an opportunity that allowed Aaron to do all the job roles he enjoys.
Aaron always has a smile on his face, he has a quiet determination to succeed even when it was sometimes challenging. It is a privilege to work with Aaron and I am so proud of how he has taken everything in his stride, how dedicated he is and I look forward to his career ahead with Centra. I would like to say a huge thank you to Aaron & Ruairi at Centra in Limavady.”
